  Ir Dr LO Wai Kwok, Justice of the Peace, aged 53, Vice President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and Past Chairman of its IT Division, is currently a company director with 30 years of industrial experience. He was awardee of both “Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection” and “Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong” in the year 1992.

Ir Dr LO is a highly experienced and seasoned industrialist and community leader, devoted a lot of time and effort to promote the information industry of Hong Kong. He was formerly Asia-Pacific president of a reputable multinational in the power supply industry for 18 years. Under his leadership, the Asia-Pacific division of the group became a world-class designer, manufacturer and distributor of power products for the world communication, computer and network market, and won a lot of prizes.

He has been an appointed member of the Shatin District Council since July 1997, and a member of both the 1st and 2nd Election Committee – IT Subsector. Besides being Vice President of the HKIE, he is currently member of the Engineers Registration Board, Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA) and Pearl River Delta (PRD) Council, member of Research Grants Council (RGC), etc. He is Adjunct Professor of the City University of Hong Kong, and Guest Professor of the University of Electronic Science and Technology Zhongshan College. He was council member of CityU (91-98), Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) (93-97), and Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) (95-05); and was president of The Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science & Technology (HKAAST) (97) and Guangdong-HK Association for the Promotion of Technology Enterprise (97-01).
